Just a good morning

The other morning Anastasia woke up early wanting to see the alligator at the park. We walked down to the boardwalk. There was a man fishing. So we said Good morning, have you caught anything or seen the gator? He replied and let us know that he has not seen the gator today but saw it the other day. He proceeded to show us a video of the gator. It was so exciting to Anastasia.

As we continued to talk about life, I learned he is a deacon, and youth leader. We talked about ministry as he continued to fish but instead of normal fishing. He would listen to Anastasia telling him where she saw fish. He told me he would love for me to meet his wife. I told him where we were parked, we chatted a bit more. I had to head back for breakfast and get ready for the day. This single conversation was just a simple one. However it was something I would soon recognize I needed.

A while later Kyle came inside and said momma someone is here to see you. I went outside and it was him, his wife and his son. Karen, his wife, gave me a big hug. It was one of those hugs I needed deep in my soul, the ones that you can feel the love in the embrace. My Ethan, my son who died, use to give hugs like that. You can literally feel in envelope your entire body with peaceful calmness that makes me imagine it is what Jesus’ hug would feel like.

We chat for a while learning about her and their family. We talk about traveling. You see their truck was having problems, they got stuck here, and had to get a new truck. They were suppose to be gone already like 2 weeks ago. Thank you Jesus for this interaction that you hand picked because my soul needed it. You see it wasn’t just the initial hug that I needed.

When we got done chatting they were headed to get ready to hopefully leave the next day, I was getting ready for maintenance errands on my car. We connected on Facebook and said we would stay in touch. She embraced me with another hug this time holding on and praying for the things that have been heavily weighing on my mind. I didn’t even talk about those but she knew. She prayed over them and the embrace with it was straight from Jesus!

Yall you have a choice you can stay to ourselves or you can open up with a simple Good morning and see where it takes you. I am blessed this morning! I am excited that I have new friends.

In His love and grace

Dani
